Ying is eighteen. She came from Nakhon Ratchasima district, or simply, from Korat, North-East region of Thailand, also known as Isan province.
Her family has rural background. Ying has one brother and one sister.

You probably won't approve this comment, but I feel really sad to see such a young-looking girl working in Pattaya's notorious bar industry. I wonder do the Western men who go to Thailand ever think this girl and others like her are just the same as their own sisters or daughters? Would they encourage their sisters or daughters to do this sort of 'work'? I very much doubt it.
As for your blog about bars in Pattaya and your own experience, I know someone who started a bar with his Thai wife and who has now had to sell, at a hefty financial loss. Tough luck for him, but perhaps some sort of natural justice at play, do you think?
